Kinesiology provides a broad understanding of human motor performance and health through degree programs and through scholarship and creativity. Emphasis is placed on examination of the entire lifespan from infancy to older adult years. Special attention is paid to understanding human movement and health in context of a diverse and ever-changing society.
Center for Sport Performance
Sport Performance is a sub-discipline of the Department of Kinesiology and it conducts, presents and publishes research; the department engages in consultations specifically related to improvement of sports performance through application of the sub-disciplines of kinesiology.
Strength and Conditioning
The strength and conditioning program is a part of the Center for Sport Performance and one of eight areas within kinesiology. The program deals with neural and hypertrophic adaptation of muscle, through research and studies, to increase strength and power for improved human performance.
